How does a full-lamination touch screen work?

Full‑lamination touch‑screen technology integrates touch‑sensor glass and TFT display panel into one monolithic module by optical bonding process.

Working principle

◆  Structure composition:Traditional frame‑bond touch screen keeps an air gap between touch‑sensor glass and TFT display.Full‑lamination fills the gap with high‑transmittance optical adhesive: either solid OCA film or liquid LOCA glue. After laminating, vacuum degassing and UV curing, touch‑sensor glass and TFT display are firmly bonded without air bubbles or air gaps.

◆  Touch signal operation:The capacitive touch‑sensor layer on inner side of cover glass captures touch coordinate signals when operator touches screen surface. Since touch‑sensor glass is closely attached to TFT display, there is no relative displacement between touch layer and picture output surface during vibration. Touch coordinates remain accurate, no offset or ghost touch.

◆  Optical performance principle:Air‑gap structure causes light reflection at every interface. Removing air gap via optical glue reduces interface reflection, improves light transmittance and contrast. Thus, screen content is much clearer under strong sunlight.

◆  Environmental performance:Without internal air cavity, there is no space for dust to enter or moisture to condense into fog inside the module under large temperature difference.

Key limitation

Touch‑sensor glass and TFT panel are glued firmly. Once one part is damaged, they cannot be peeled apart for repair. The entire full‑lamination module needs to be replaced.
