How to install a forklift hour meter?

General installation procedure for High Precision Loader Digital Display

  1. Select mounting locationPick a visible position on forklift dashboard or control panel. Avoid locations with excessive heat, strong vibration or water splash. Reserve enough space for wiring behind the panel.
  2. Safety preparationDisconnect the negative cable of forklift battery to prevent short‑circuit during installation. Confirm the hour‑meter rated voltage matches the forklift’s electrical system (12V / 24V etc.).
  3. Fix the hour meter
  • Panel‑embedded type: Cut or use existing hole on dashboard, fasten with mounting flange and nuts.

  • External standalone type: Secure with screws, bracket or heavy‑duty double‑sided tape.

  1. Electrical wiring✅ Positive terminal: Connect to switched power source (power‑on together with forklift key switch).✅ Negative terminal: Connect to reliable vehicle ground point (battery negative or bare chassis metal).✅ Signal wire (for partial models): Connect to alternator signal or running status signal source, so it only counts when forklift is running.Add inline fuse for circuit protection if required.
  2. Cable arrangementArrange and fasten wires with cable ties. Keep wiring far from engine high‑temperature parts and rotating moving parts to avoid wire damage.
  3. Test operationDouble‑check all wiring connections. Reconnect battery negative terminal. Turn on forklift key switch, start the vehicle and verify that the hour meter accumulates working hours correctly.

Important reminders

⚠️ Wrong wiring polarity will damage the hour meter.⚠️ Professional technician installation is recommended.⚠️ If integrated inside digital / intelligent instrument cluster, no separate wiring is required.
